Facebook Reels song finder: what works, and what doesn’t

ReelSongFinder names songs from public Instagram Reel links. It does not read Facebook. If your Reel is on Facebook, here is what you can do on Facebook, and the one case where this site can still help.

Listening to Reel audio…

You’ve used your 2 free song matches.

Free is 2 matches per browser, one time. To match more Reels, pick one:

$4.99 one-time · 20 more song matches · no subscription

$9.99/month · unlimited song matches · cancel anytime

A Reel you already matched still opens free. Already paid? Restore with your checkout email.

Do not paste a facebook.com or fb.watch link into the box. It is rejected as an invalid URL. The box on this page is for a public instagram.com/reel/ link.

Start with what Facebook shows

  1. Tap the audio line at the bottom of the Reel. If Facebook has a catalog track for the Reel, the line shows a title and an artist. Tapping it can open a page for that audio, which is faster than any outside tool. What you see can differ by app version, region, and upload.
  2. Read the caption, then the top comments. Someone has often asked “song?” and someone has answered. A creator who credits the track usually does it in the caption.
  3. Note whether it says Original audio. That label means the sound belongs to the creator, not to a catalog song, so there is no title to read. Instagram does the same thing, which is explained in the Original Audio guide.

When the same video is on Instagram

Many creators post the same clip to both apps. Search for them on Instagram and open the Reels tab. When you find the matching video, copy its link the way this guide describes and paste it on the home page. The result comes from the audio of that Instagram file, so a blank label does not block it. Check that the music is the same before you trust the answer: reposts and re-edits sometimes swap the track.

When there is no Instagram copy

There is no supported route here. The site only offers a short upload box after an Instagram link failed to fetch, and that box is a fallback for Instagram, not a Facebook feature. Use what is left:

  • Lyrics. If you caught a few words, follow searching lyrics from a Reel. The method is the same on Facebook.
  • One recognition pass. Replay from the start of the hook with other sound off, and run a music recognition app once. Sped-up edits are harder, see sped-up and remix Reels.
  • Other apps. For TikTok or YouTube Shorts the situation is the same, with notes on TikTok and Shorts.

Questions

Can I paste a Facebook Reel link into ReelSongFinder?

No. The finder accepts public Instagram Reel links only. A facebook.com or fb.watch link comes back as an invalid URL before any audio is checked. That is a limit of the product, not a problem with your link.

How do I see the song on a Facebook Reel?

Look for the audio line at the bottom of the Reel and tap it. When the Reel uses a catalog track, it shows a title and artist, and tapping it can open a page for that audio. If it says Original audio, it is tied to the creator rather than to a catalog song.

The same video is on Instagram. What do I do?

Copy the public Instagram Reel link and paste it on the home page. That is the case this tool is built for. Find the creator on Instagram and open their Reels tab. Make sure the audio is the same before you rely on the result.

Is there an upload option for a Facebook video?

Not as a supported route. The site only shows a short-clip upload box after an Instagram link could not be fetched. It is a fallback for Instagram, so we do not recommend it as a Facebook workflow.

What if the Reel says Original audio?

Then the label will not give you a title. Try the lyrics you can hear, one Shazam pass on the hook, or the Instagram version of the clip if there is one.
