Paste
Drop a public Instagram Reel, TikTok or X video link. We pull the audio from the link — no mic aimed at your phone. How to find a song on a Reel.
-
Match
We fingerprint the Reel’s sound against major catalogs and return the original release — not a guess from captions or hashtags.
-
Listen
Play a 30s preview when it’s available, then open the track on Spotify, Apple Music, or search it on other stores. Share the result or copy the link.
Why a link
Paste the URL — we listen to the file
Reels often autoplay muted, and phone mics struggle in cafés or cars. A public Reel link lets us pull the audio directly, so you don’t need a second phone or a clean speaker. When the sticker only says “Original Audio,” Instagram isn’t naming the track — if the sound is a known song, link ID can still surface it; see why Original Audio hides the song name.
Link paste finishes the muted / no-second-phone case. Shazam is the backup when you only have live playback. Captions and comments sometimes already name the track — worth a quick scroll; we still match by audio fingerprint, not by guessing from text. FAQ
Quick answers
Straight answers for first-time paste. Longer walkthroughs live in the guides, starting with find a song on a Reel.
How do I find a song on an Instagram Reel?
Fastest path: copy a public Reel link → paste it in the finder above → tap Find song. We check that the page opens. The match runs after you pay, then you get the title, artist, a 30s preview when catalogs provide one, and Spotify / Apple Music plus search links for other stores. Mic apps like Shazam are a backup when you only have playback. Full walkthrough: how to find a song on an Instagram Reel.
How do I copy a Reel link?
On iPhone or Android: open the Reel → tap Share (paper plane) or ⋯ → Copy link. On desktop: open the Reel in a browser → click ⋯ or Share → Copy link. Paste a public /reel/… URL here (not a Story, feed carousel, or music page). Steps: how to copy an Instagram Reel link.
What does “Original Audio” mean?
Instagram shows Original Audio when the clip isn’t tagged to a catalog music sticker — it is a metadata label, not proof that no song is playing. If the underlying sound is a known commercial track, paste the Reel URL here and we can still match title and artist. When ID works vs fails: why Instagram shows Original Audio.
Is it free?
Naming the song is paid. Paste a public Reel link: we check that the page can be opened. The match runs after you pay. $1.90 one-time for 10 songs (credits do not expire) or a Year Pass for $49 (one payment, 365 days, not a subscription). A credit is used only when we find a match. Matching can fail on short clips, speech-only audio, or heavy edits. A failed fetch or a system error is not charged. Already paid? Restore. Plans: pricing.
When should I upload a short clip instead of a URL?
Prefer a public Reel URL first — that’s the fastest path. Upload a clip or screen recording (large files are shrunk to audio in your browser) only when Instagram can’t be fetched remotely (blocked, deleted mid-try, or region issues) and the form suggests it. Upload is a fallback for audio we can hear; it won’t unlock private/Close Friends content we never had a right to fetch.
How do I restore paid access?
Pack credits and Unlimited follow the email you used at checkout — not a Google login. New browser, new device, or after clearing cookies: open /restore, enter that same checkout email, and access returns on this browser. No password account required.
What won’t work?
Public Reels only. We can’t reach private accounts, Close Friends, Stories, Instagram music/audio pages (not a /reel/… link), or deleted / region-blocked clips. Speech-only clips, unreleased DIY loops, extreme pitch/speed edits, and music buried under loud voiceover often return no match — we never invent a title.
Do I get Spotify and Apple Music links? What if there’s no match?
When we match a catalog track, you get the title, artist, cover art when a catalog provides it, a 30s preview when Apple Music / Spotify / Deezer return one, and store buttons (direct links when AudD provides them; otherwise honest artist+title search on YouTube Music, Deezer, and Amazon Music) once the result is unlocked. No match means the fingerprint didn’t hit a known release (or the audio was too short or noisy). A credit is used only when we find a match. A failed fetch or a system error does not. A result you unlocked stays open at its link.
Why a song may not be found
- Original audio or a voice recording is not a released song, so the catalog has nothing to name.
- A heavy remix, mashup, or large speed or pitch change no longer matches the original recording.
- A very short clip, or music under loud noise or talking, does not leave a clear fingerprint.
- An obscure, unreleased, or library track may sit outside the catalogs the match checks.
No Reel link?
Song finder for a video file or recording
A link has to be a public Instagram Reel, TikTok or X video. YouTube and other hosts are not read from a URL. If you have a video file instead, from your camera roll, a chat, or a screen recording of another app, press “No link? Upload a screen recording instead” under the box. Pick the page that matches what you have:
Name the recording
Identifier, background music, or how a match works
The box above is the same tool on each of these pages. Pick the page that matches the question.
