How to ID tracks in a mix clip

  1. Choose a stretch where a single track is playing alone. The bars after a blend are usable. The handoff, where two songs sit together, is not.
  2. Write the title down yourself. Nothing on this page keeps your notes.
  3. Repeat on the next stretch. A transition or a mashup often returns the louder recording, or nothing. Remixes and mashups miss for the same reason.

The same idea applies to any long video: cut a short clip where one song plays, as shown in find a song in a video.

Questions

Does a match mean that song is first in the mix?

No. It is the clearest stretch in the file you submitted, which may be the middle of the mix.

The mix is on SoundCloud, Mixcloud, or YouTube.

Those URLs are rejected. Use an Instagram video of that section.

The song only shows up for a second in the drop.

A very short phrase often misses. A longer public clip of the same track is a better input than replaying the drop.

Can I upload the whole DJ set?

An audio or video file can be uploaded with “No link? Upload a screen recording instead”, and a long file is cut to its first 30 seconds of audio before matching. A full set is one clip, not a tracklist.
