CapCut

CapCut song finder

Read the audio name on the CapCut timeline first. If it is only “original sound” or a filename, export the clip with the music audible and upload it under the box. A capcut.com link is rejected.

Listening to the audio…

The name is often already in the project

Open the template or draft and select the audio clip on the timeline, or the sound row in the template details. CapCut shows a track title when the sound came from its library. Search that title. You are done, and you do not need an upload.

The label is not a title when it says original sound, extracted audio, imported, or a file name such as audio.mp3. That is the creator’s own layer. Trending templates reuse those unnamed sounds. This site does not keep a list of template songs, and it will not invent one from the template’s caption.

Do this when the timeline has no title

  1. Export the picture with the song still in it. Mute preview and a cover frame with no audio cannot be matched. Keep the export short and start it where the hook starts. A video file’s limits are on find the song from a video. If you exported audio only, use find the song from an audio file.
  2. Upload that file from the box above. Use “No link? Upload a screen recording instead,” then Find song. A screen recording of the CapCut preview is the fallback when export is unavailable. Record with device audio, not the room, the same way as a Reel screen recording.
  3. If you already posted the export, paste the public link instead. Instagram usually credits that upload as Original Audio, which does not mean the sound is speech. The distinction is Original Audio on a Reel. Copy the Reel link and follow how to find a song from an Instagram Reel link. The Reel URL is a better input than uploading the project again.
  4. Speed, curve, and pitch are a separate limit. A small speed-up often still matches the original. Nightcore, mashups, and heavy pitch usually do not. Read sped-up or remix songs from a Reel before you export a second, more extreme version of the same template.

What a match is

You get a catalog title and artist when the recording is known, plus a preview when a store provides one. You do not get the right to drop that song into another template. CapCut’s own library is where licensed add-music belongs. A no match means the excerpt was not a known release: speech, an unreleased edit, or a sound that only exists inside that project. We will not fill the gap from the on-screen lyric text. The empty-result cases are when a Reel song is not found. Finding the song is free; plan amounts are on pricing.

Questions

Can I paste a CapCut template link?

No. capcut.com links, template share codes, and project files are rejected. The box takes a public Instagram, TikTok, or X video link. A CapCut export is uploaded as a file.

CapCut already shows a song title. Do I upload anything?

No. Search that title in your streaming app. Upload only when the timeline says original sound, imported audio, or a filename that is not a song.

The template is sped up or pitched. Will a match be the original?

A mild speed change often still matches the original recording. Heavy nightcore, mashups, and pitch shifts often do not. The Reel version of that limit is the sped-up and remix guide.

I already posted the CapCut export as an Instagram Reel. What do I paste?

The public Reel link, not the CapCut project. Instagram will usually credit that upload as Original Audio. Paste the Reel URL and let the match read the file.

Does naming the song let me reuse it?

No. A match identifies a recording. It is not a license, a copyright-free list, or permission to keep the track in your own template.
